Can WordPress replace Drupal?

A new fully updated version of WordPress has recently been released. Its developers claim about the speed increase and interface changes. Now, a common CMS is fully powered by JavaScript, with the Calypso engine at the core. Due to the use of open source software solutions and the abandonment of PHP, WordPress has moved to the category of Open Source. Despite such global changes, it is based on the same principle of operation as before. The system remains the engine most optimized for the blogosphere. It copes well with this task; however, it will be rather difficult to implement more complex solutions in it. Compared, for example, with Drupal, this CMS has several significant drawbacks. The main one is insecurity, which becomes more obvious when creating a large Internet project. Drupal has a much higher functionality, it can be adapted to almost any purpose.  Despite this, the popularity of WordPress is constantly growing. This is due to its intuitive interface and simple setup. It is mainly chosen by beginners who decide to independently create a blog on the network. In most cases, they cope well with it. But then difficulties with the development of the resource, its expansion, and addition of new modules occur. And then users chose Drupal, ordering the development of sites to specialists. Of course, Drupal CMS is more difficult to configure and maintain, but the opportunities it gives are worth paying for it. And WordPress will never be able to fully compete with the more professional counterpart.
